Brits' top superstitions from lucky pants to broken mirrors and Friday 13th
A survey reveals that nearly half of Britons have superstitions, including avoiding walking under ladders and breaking mirrors, with various other rituals also popular among the population.
A new study has uncovered that a significant portion of the British population, approximately 49%, professes to believe in various superstitions. The survey, which involved 2,000 participants, highlighted the most commonplace beliefs, ranking the avoidance of walking under ladders as the most popular superstition at 58%. Following close behind is the aversion to breaking mirrors, which 53% of respondents believe can lead to seven years of bad luck. Other notable superstitions include the practice of not opening umbrellas indoors (41%), not placing new shoes on the table (33%), touching wood after making a positive statement (32%), and avoiding the use of
