Last Friday, March 6, various bones from cattle and pigs were found discarded along the MG-050 highway in Carmo do Cajuru, Brazil. This discovery was made by municipal environmental officials after receiving an anonymous tip about the illegal dumping. Upon investigation, the municipal environmental department confirmed the irregularity, highlighting the concerning issue of improper disposal of animal remains in the area.

Gustavo Camargos, the Secretary of the Municipal Department of Environment and Sustainable Development, indicated that the dumping not only violates environmental regulations but also constitutes an environmental crime under national law, warranting significant penalties. The case will be forwarded to the Military Police of the Environment, who are tasked with identifying potential perpetrators involved in the illegal disposal.

The municipal authorities are urging proper disposal methods to prevent environmental contamination and uphold public health standards.
