Curitiba resident wins the first R$ 1 million prize of the year in Nota Paraná; see other prizes awarded

A resident from Curitiba won the first R$ 1 million prize in the Nota Paraná lottery for 2026.

A 66-year-old man from the Cristo Rei neighborhood in Curitiba won R$ 1 million in the first lottery draw of 2026 held by the Nota Paraná program. He participated by entering six tickets generated from 16 receipts. This year, the first draw is notable, as the largest previous prize was only R$ 100,000, which also reflects the program's ongoing function of encouraging consumers to demand invoices in exchange for potential cash prizes.

In this same draw, a R$ 100,000 prize was awarded to a 38-year-old woman living in the rural area of Cornélio Procópio, located in the Northern Pioneering region of Paraná. Additionally, a R$ 50,000 prize was won by a 24-year-old male resident of Avencal in Mandirituba, which is part of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. These winners highlight the diverse demographics participating in the program, as well as the substantial amounts being given away to consumers.

In total, the Nota Paraná initiative distributed 23,103 prizes during the lottery draw, which included smaller cash prizes for participants. The program, organized by the state of Paraná, encourages citizens to request receipts when making purchases, contributing to a more transparent tax system and rewarding consumer engagement. This draw demonstrates the effectiveness of note verification in increasing accountability amongst vendors and provides financial incentives for consumers.
