Military training for Poles. The Ministry of National Defense announces compensation for reservists
The Polish Ministry of National Defense announced the launch of a civilian training program aimed at enhancing national security and increasing military reserves.
The Polish Minister of National Defense reiterated the importance of national defense as a societal responsibility, emphasizing that everyone is called to protect the country in times of danger, even if not everyone will serve in the military. The ministry aims to develop a solid framework of trained civilians and reserves to ensure the country's security, highlighting the concept that national defense is a collective duty that requires preparedness from all citizens.
Starting from March 7, the ministry will roll out a comprehensive training program named "wGotowoΕci" (In Readiness), which aims to educate civilians in basic military skills. This initiative is accompanied by plans to expand the military reserves and reform their operational system. These changes are framed as essential due to demographic shifts and a decline in the number of traditional recruits for the armed forces.
Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz proposed the establishment of a so-called high readiness reserve, consisting of trained reservists who would regularly participate in drills. He envisioned that these trained individuals, along with the Territorial Defense Forces and other military formations, would collectively strengthen Poland's military capacity, aiming for a total of 500,000 soldiers to enhance national security against potential threats.
