Man arrested and two teenagers apprehended for drug trafficking in Volta Redonda

A 30-year-old man was arrested, and two teenagers were apprehended in Volta Redonda for drug trafficking activities on Sunday.

On Sunday, in Volta Redonda, Brazil, police arrested a 30-year-old man and apprehended two teenagers, ages 16 and 17, suspected of engaging in drug trafficking. The incident occurred on Rua Sebastião de Souza in the Candelária neighborhood, where the trio was observed actively dealing drugs. Upon police approach, the suspects attempted to flee but were quickly located by the authorities.

During the police operation, law enforcement seized significant quantities of illegal substances, including 31 capsules of cocaine, 46 packages of marijuana, 75 stones of crack, as well as a radio transmitter and two mobile phones. The cash amounting to R$ 120 was also confiscated, reflecting the nature of street-level drug dealing. The swift action by law enforcement highlights ongoing concerns regarding drug-related crime in this area of Rio de Janeiro.

The authorities brought the suspects to the Volta Redonda police station where they are being processed. The two teenagers, underage and charged similarly to adults, face allegations of drug trafficking and conspiracy to traffic, while the adult male faces similar charges but with the possibility of more severe penalties. All three suspects are currently in the custody of the judicial system, emphasizing the continuing battle against drug offenses in Brazil, particularly concerning youth involvement in such crimes.
