On the night of Sunday (8), a tragic incident occurred when a tree fell on a vehicle traveling along the Rio-Santos Highway in Angra dos Reis, resulting in three fatalities and one injury. The accident took place at kilometer 490 around 8:40 PM, and involved four occupants in the car at the time. The unfortunate individuals who lost their lives were aged 41, 48, and 51, and they succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident, while the fourth passenger was transported to the Municipal Hospital of JapuÃba for medical care.
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) promptly responded to the incident, noting that the crash led to a complete shutdown of the highway for several hours in both directions, affecting traffic significantly. Investigators were dispatched to the scene to gather information that could assist in understanding the circumstances surrounding the accident. Meanwhile, the deceased were taken to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) for further examination.
