Police investigate possible murder in Oslo
Norwegian police are treating the disappearance of 30-year-old Mustafa Ahmed as a potential murder case as investigations reveal signs of foul play.
Norwegian police have initiated a murder investigation concerning the case of 30-year-old Mustafa Ahmed, who was reported missing in Oslo in October 2024. The last confirmed sighting of Ahmed was on Torshov on the night of September 30, shortly before he was reported missing on October 8. Authorities have indicated that there is increasing evidence suggesting that Ahmed may have been the victim of a criminal act based on their investigations.
During the course of their inquiries, the police have stated that they are considering several factors, including the lack of evidence indicating any life signs, testimonies from witnesses, findings from search operations, and the analysis of electronic data. As of spring 2025, their investigations have shifted focus to treating the case as a homicide, although they have not ruled out the possibility that Ahmed's disappearance could be attributed to voluntary departure or an accident.
The police are actively pursuing leads and are engaging with the media in coordination with Ahmedβs family to solicit information from potential witnesses or anyone with relevant knowledge regarding his whereabouts. Police prosecutor Kari Kirkhorn emphasized the importance of public assistance, aiming to lower the threshold for individuals coming forward with any tips that may aid in the investigation.
