Queens face a downpour in the last technical rehearsal at Sapucaí
Queens Iza, Ju Paes, Lorena Raissa, and Virginia experienced heavy rain during their final rehearsal at Rio's Sambadrome.
On Sunday (8), the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro was hit by a heavy rainstorm that affected the Sapucaí, where the Queens took part in a technical rehearsal with their samba schools. Celebrities Iza, Juliana Paes, Lorena Raissa, and Virginia Fonseca danced through the downpour, showcasing resilience and determination ahead of the official carnival celebrations set to begin next Sunday (15). The rehearsal was the last opportunity for the samba schools and their queens to prepare for the upcoming performances.
The participating samba schools included Unidos do Viradouro, Imperatriz Leopoldinense, Acadêmicos do Grande Rio, and Beija-Flor de Nilópolis. The queens highlighted the vibrant and creative costumes that symbolize the spirit of the carnival, with Iza leading the group, donning an eye-catching outfit in shades of gold and black. Her costume featured intricate embroidery, metallic details, and a dramatic headdress that exemplified the celebratory nature of the event.
This year’s carnival promises to be a grand affair, and despite the weather challenges, the queens’ participation in the rehearsals is a testament to their commitment to delivering outstanding performances. As the festivities loom closer, the samba schools are focused on perfecting their routines and engaging the audience, ensuring that the Carnival remains a cherished cultural event, deeply rooted in Rio de Janeiro's identity.
