Latvia's National Electronic Media Council (NEPLP) has recently announced the blocking of access to five more Russian websites that are known for disseminating propaganda. The blocked websites include 'buryatia.mid.ru', 'eurasiaru.org', '19rusinfo.ru', 'historyrussia.org', and 'rshu.ru'. This action was taken after receiving information from a competent state authority regarding the content on these sites, which contradicts the informational security and national security interests of Latvia.

The NEPLP has expressed that these sites promote one-sided and biased views concerning the Russian war in Ukraine. They play a role in mobilizing informational and public support for Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine, reinforcing a pro-Russian narrative in historical understanding, and cultivating a sense of belonging and positive attitudes toward Russia among the audience. Such content poses a significant risk of undermining social cohesion within Latvia, affecting inter-ethnic relations and the overall understanding of national values.
