Unstable weather today with rain and temperature drop – When it will rain in Attica

Today is expected to have unstable weather with initial rain in the western and northern regions of Greece, which will gradually extend across the country, according to the National Meteorological Service.

The forecast for today indicates that Greece will experience unstable weather, with initial rainfall starting in the western and northern parts of the country. As the day progresses, rain is expected to spread throughout Greece. The National Meteorological Service has warned that thunderstorms will mainly occur in coastal and sea areas, particularly intensifying in central and eastern Macedonia by the afternoon hours.

In addition to rainfall, snowfall is forecasted for mountainous areas in the mainland, with a possibility of temporary snow in the semi-mountainous regions of Thrace late in the evening. The morning hours will see limited visibility in some areas, and the transfer of dust from Africa is expected in the western and southern parts of the country. Winds in northeastern Greece will blow from the east at speeds of 4 to 5 Beaufort, gradually strengthening to 6 to 7 Beaufort by the afternoon, while in other regions, winds will come from the south at speeds of 3 to 5 Beaufort.

Meanwhile, the temperature is projected to drop significantly, reaching between 12 to 14 degrees Celsius in the northern regions, 15 to 17 degrees Celsius in most other areas, and 18 to 19 degrees Celsius in the southern island regions. This shift in weather conditions is relevant, especially for those planning outdoor activities or travel, as the change can affect visibility and travel safety across various regions of Greece.
