Long-term weather forecast for Poland. Winter is "pushing" through to spring. Meteorologist's analysis
A long-term weather forecast indicates that winter is still asserting itself in Poland, with significant cold air expected early in the week.
According to the latest long-term weather forecast extending to February 24, winter has not yet released its grip on Poland. Meteorologist Tomasz Wasilewski highlighted the critical influence of a cold Scandinavian high-pressure system moving from the north to the center of the continent. Along with this system, a wave of freezing Arctic air is expected to impact Poland on Monday, bringing significant cold temperatures across the region.
The forecast notes that in the following days, the high pressure will shift further east in Europe, taking the cold with it. This retreat will open the door for an Atlantic low-pressure system which will introduce warmer air from the ocean into Poland shortly after. Thus, citizens can expect a rapid change in weather conditions as the week progresses, moving from frigid temperatures to relatively milder weather.
In terms of temperature, the beginning of the week is characterized by severe cold, with nighttime temperatures possibly dropping to minus several degrees Celsius. The coldest conditions will be felt in the eastern parts of Poland, where daytime temperatures may remain around minus 7 degrees Celsius. However, by Wednesday, a notable weather change is expected, signaling a transition towards warmer conditions as spring approaches, although winter's persistence is still evident in the short term.
