Robot with AI feeds animals and improves results on farms
A new AI-powered robot for feeding livestock, developed by Roboagro in Brazil, is set to be demonstrated at the Show Rural Coopavel.
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agriculture is showcased through a new feeding robot designed for swine, which will be demonstrated at the Show Rural Coopavel in Brazil from February 9 to 13. This prototype, created by the Rio Grande do Sul-based company Roboagro, aims to enhance farm efficiency, decrease labor burdens, and optimize livestock health and productivity.
Veterinary expert Gustavo Bernart highlights the advanced features of the robot, including the installation of cameras and sensors that measure both the temperature of the animals and the environment, as well as estimate the weight of individual pigs. This data-driven approach not only facilitates precise feeding schedules through a mobile app but also supports farmers in making informed decisions about their livestock management.
The deployment of such technology indicates a significant shift towards automation and smart farming practices in Brazil, potentially setting a precedent for future innovations in the agricultural sector. As farmers adopt these AI solutions, they are likely to experience increased productivity, improved animal welfare, and reduced operational costs, paving the way for the future of sustainable agriculture in the region.
