São Vicente opens registrations for Implanon application drive
The city of São Vicente has opened registrations for a contraceptive application drive for adolescents until February 23.
The Prefecture of São Vicente in São Paulo's coastal region has announced that registrations are open until February 23 for the 7th application drive of Implanon, a subcutaneous contraceptive method. This initiative specifically targets adolescents aged 15 to 17, highlighting efforts to provide accessible contraceptive options in the community. There are 200 spots available for young women studying in public schools and residing in designated areas within the city.
Interested participants must register through an official form and will undergo a review process to ensure they meet the necessary requirements. Once selected, they will receive further information from the Women's Health Directorate to schedule the insertion of the device, including specifics on the location and date of the procedure. The event will also include educational components like explanatory lessons and workshops focused on contraceptive methods and preventing sexually transmitted infections.
This initiative is part of a broader public health aim to improve reproductive health knowledge among youths, ensuring that they have access to safe contraceptive options and are informed about various health risks. The municipal administration has emphasized the importance of such programs, particularly in the context of increasing sexual health education and preventing unintended pregnancies among young adults during the years 2023 to 2025.
