India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, recently visited Ottawa on February 6 and 7 to engage with senior Canadian officials in a diplomatic effort to improve the strained relations between the two countries that have persisted for nearly two years. During these talks, both nations expressed their commitment to strengthening security cooperation, facilitating information sharing, and revitalizing institutional ties. On February 7, Doval held discussions with Natalie Drouin, the Deputy Secretary to the Prime Minister of Canada and National Security and Intelligence Advisor. This meeting was part of a regular bilateral security dialogue aimed at addressing pressing security concerns that have affected both countries. A day prior, Doval also conferred with Canada's Minister of Public Safety, Gary Anandasangari. The meetings underscored a shared recognition of the progress made in efforts related to the safety of citizens in each country and emphasized the necessity of resuming a collaborative approach to their national security.
