Police arrest two suspects for the murder of a driver on the road to Daule

Two suspects were arrested following the murder of a driver on a road in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

On February 6, in Guayaquil's northern area near kilometer 4.5 on the road to Daule, a violent incident led to the murder of a man identified as Óscar Andrés Jiménez Morejón, who was found shot and lying behind his vehicle. Witnesses reported that the assailants were on a motorcycle, dressed in black, with one wearing a helmet and the other covering their face, and they fled towards Los Ceibos after the attack.

The National Police of Ecuador responded promptly after receiving an alert from ECU 911, which initiated an investigatory protocol that allowed them to identify the suspects in a relatively short time. Following this, police operations led to the arrest of one Wilmer M., and the investigation is ongoing with efforts to locate further suspects involved in the attack. The police noted that Jiménez had no prior criminal record, raising concerns regarding the motive behind the murder.
