Downhill Bootcamp that Promotes Talents in Mexico
The first edition of the Red Bull Del Cerro al Barrio bootcamp took place in Valle de Bravo, promoting young mountain bike riders in freeride and urban downhill.
This weekend, Valle de Bravo hosted the inaugural Red Bull Del Cerro al Barrio bootcamp, aimed at nurturing young talents in the disciplines of freeride and urban downhill mountain biking. The event gathered the top ten riders in the field, featuring notable Mexican athletes such as Kaito Miguel Roldán Fragoso, Damián Hernández Maciel, and others alongside international participants like Spain's Guillermo Tovar and Chile's Martin Francisco Guzman Rettig.
From February 4 to 7, these athletes underwent specialized training, technical feedback, and formative experiences guided by top extreme cycling athletes, including the globally recognized Red Bull professional coach, Tomáš Slavík. This initiative not only offers young riders a platform to enhance their skills but also connects them with experts in the sport to help them achieve their goals in competitive downhill racing.
Comments from participants indicate a strong desire to excel, exemplified by one rider stating, "I want to be a downhill champion; that is my biggest goal." The camp represents a significant step in promoting mountain biking talent in Mexico, reflecting a growing enthusiasm for the sport and the potential for future champions to emerge from this vibrant community.
