City Hall of SP restricts entry of revelers in Consolação, and PM asks to avoid the region
The Mayor of São Paulo has restricted access to the area of the DJ Calvin Harris block due to safety concerns from large crowds.
In São Paulo, Mayor Ricardo Nunes announced on Sunday that access to the region of Consolação will be restricted for revelers attending the DJ Calvin Harris block. This decision, made around 2:55 PM, comes in response to the high number of attendees, which raised safety concerns following previous incidents of overcrowding where barriers were toppled, leading to potential injuries. Authorities are on alert as the situation requires additional measures to ensure the safety of the public.
To manage the large crowd, the municipal government has increased the number of Municipal Guard agents and ambulances in the area. After past tumultuous events during the parade, Nunes mentioned that barriers closing off transversal streets were removed to allow for better pedestrian flow in the crowded area. The move aims to mitigate chaos and enhance the safety of attendees during this busy festive occasion.
The São Paulo Military Police also urged people to avoid the Consolação region during the afternoon due to the substantial influx of participants. This request underscores the authorities' efforts to maintain safety and order during a time when two major blocos converged in the same area, potentially leading to disorder if proper precautions are not adhered to.
