Zelenskyy: Russia strikes Ukrainian railways almost daily

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia is targeting Ukraine's railway infrastructure almost daily, but the country is successfully maintaining essential logistics.

In his recent address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the ongoing strikes by Russia on Ukraine's railway infrastructure, emphasizing that these attacks occur almost daily. He pointed out a specific strike in the Chernihiv region, which targeted a train intended for passenger transportation. Despite these challenges, Zelenskyy praised the efforts of those protecting the railway system and maintaining logistics crucial for the country’s operations.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude towards the individuals working within the Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ukrainian Railways, for their commitment to ensuring that services continue uninterrupted despite the persistent threat. The President noted that while strikes have occurred in various regions, including Kharkiv and Dnipro, the response of the railway's staff has been commendable.

Additionally, Zelenskyy stressed the need for external support, particularly in the form of air defence missiles, indicating that Ukraine relies on its partners for assistance in bolstering its defensive capabilities against these frequent attacks. The remarks reflect the ongoing challenges Ukraine faces in maintaining infrastructure during the conflict and the critical importance of international support in these efforts.
