The case of SOP official regarding threats to a TV Republika editor. Latest recordings revealed

New recordings have been revealed regarding threats made by an official of the State Protection Service against a TV Republika reporter.

Piotr Nisztor has disclosed further recordings involving a State Protection Service (SOP) official who threatened him. The reporter from TV Republika highlighted that Wojciech B. exposed private details about an entrepreneur from Pruszków, including his residence, personal security details, and the daily schedule of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński. Notably, the shocking recording was reportedly sent to Minister Kierwiński on January 20, 2026, just ten days before Nisztor's inquiry to the SOP.

The situation has raised serious allegations against Minister Kierwiński, as observers question his inaction in response to the troubling recording. Marcin Dobski, in a social media post, criticized the minister for failing to act despite knowing about the shocking content, and for allowing 'Biszkopt,' presumably the involved official, to retire without any disciplinary measures. This has sparked further discussions about accountability within the Polish government and raises concerns about the protection of journalists in the country.

Adding to the controversy, there have been conflicting statements regarding the official's current status, with some asserting that he remains suspended pending proceedings rather than retired. This incident sheds light on the broader issue of how authorities handle threats against press members and the implications for press freedom in Poland, as the narrative unfolds alongside ongoing scrutiny of governmental actions toward media and critics.
