The captain of the Croatian futsal team revealed that their anthem is Thompson's song 'Spirit of the Warrior'

The captain of the Croatian futsal team disclosed that their anthem is 'Spirit of the Warrior' by Marko Perković Thompson, following their historic victory at the European Championship.

The Croatian futsal team has returned from Slovenia with a bronze medal, marking the first senior medal in the history of Croatian futsal. Captain Franco Jelovčić was required to undergo doping control immediately after the match, which prevented him from participating in the initial celebrations with his teammates in the hall. Despite this, he noted the positive atmosphere in the team bus, where they enjoyed singing and bonding together after a memorable tournament.

Jelovčić revealed that the anthem of the futsal team is 'Spirit of the Warrior' by Marko Perković Thompson, expressing pride in the unity of the squad throughout the championship. He emphasized that they never lost their composure during the competition, even when they fell behind against Latvia, maintaining their belief in their capabilities, which they ultimately demonstrated in their performance.

The match concluded dramatically, with the French team equalizing just seven seconds before the end, leading to a penalty shootout. Jelovčić commended his teammate Sekulić for stepping up during this tense moment, reflecting on the team’s resilience and teamwork during the tournament. This achievement not only highlights the potential of Croatian futsal but also creates a cultural connection through its musical tribute to the team's spirit and determination.
