Risk did not work out with Davidová. The biathlete failed at the end and did not come to the journalists

Czech biathlete Markéta Davidová and her team finished in 11th place in the mixed relay at the Winter Olympics, falling short of earlier expectations due to a penalty loop in the final shooting.

Czech biathletes Vítězslav Hornig, Michal Krčmář, Tereza Voborníková, and Markéta Davidová competed in the mixed relay at the Winter Olympics, finishing in 11th place. Davidová, who had uncertain participation due to back issues, was unable to hold the fifth position at the end of the race, impacted by a penalty loop during the final shooting round. Despite this setback, the Czech team improved their previous Olympic performance from Beijing by one place,

The race in Anterselva was won by the French team, featuring Éric Perrot, Quentin Fillon Maillet, Lou Jeanmonnot, and Julia Simon, who secured gold with a significant lead. Italy took home the silver medal, finishing nearly 26 seconds behind, and the German team claimed bronze. The Czech team demonstrated that they are capable of competing with the top teams; however, the final results, which count the most, did not meet their expectations.

Sports director Ondřej Rybář noted that the outcome of the competition was not satisfactory, especially considering the team’s ambitions and the level of competition. Although this was their first Olympic start, the Czech biathletes have a history of better placements in previous games. In comparison, they were eighth in Pyeongchang in 2018 and won silver in their Olympic debut in Sochi in 2014. The team did have a chance to compete for medals but ultimately fell short this time around, highlighting the unpredictability and challenge of Olympic competition.
