The Ogun State Government has announced plans to construct a ₦1 billion digital classroom complex at Remo Secondary School in Sagamu, with the capability to seat 900 students. Governor Dapo Abiodun revealed this initiative during the school's 80th anniversary celebration, highlighting a commitment to integrate advanced technology into the educational framework of the state. The development aims to prepare students with essential skills needed for a 21st-century knowledge economy, reflecting a shift towards more tech-centric learning environments.
In addition to the digital classroom, the initiative also includes the establishment of a resource centre and a fully equipped robotics laboratory within the school. These facilities are designed to foster innovation, creativity, and the development of advanced digital skills among students. Governor Abiodun emphasized that this investment is part of a larger smart learning strategy to improve educational outcomes and ensure that students are well-prepared for future technological demands.
To further support the school, Governor Abiodun pledged a sum of ₦100 million to enhance the existing infrastructure and educational resources. This commitment underscores the state government's dedication to reforming the educational sector through significant investments in technology, aiming to provide students with the necessary tools for success in an increasingly digital world.
