The new week will start with colder weather
Latvia is expecting significantly lower temperatures, dropping to as low as -23 degrees Celsius in some regions, with a cold and dry start to the week.
As the new week begins, Latvia is bracing for a significant drop in temperatures, with nighttime lows expected to fall to between -14 and -19 degrees Celsius. Particularly in central and eastern regions of the country, temperatures may plummet even further, hovering around -20 to -23 degrees. The weather is expected to remain dry with minimal cloud cover, although some areas may experience fog due to gentle winds.
In the capital city, Riga, the temperatures will also be notably cold, dropping to between -15 and -17 degrees overnight, slightly lower further from the city center. Throughout Monday, residents can expect dry weather with some sunshine, but the temperatures will only rise to -6 to -11 degrees Celsius across the country, while coastal areas might see a slight increase to -5 to -6 degrees.
The forecast for Monday indicates that there will be periods of cloud cover, but no precipitation is anticipated. The light southern wind will contribute to a predominantly sunny day in Riga, with afternoon temperatures estimated between -7 and -8 degrees, ensuring that residents experience a notably chilly start to their week.
