The municipality of Elliniko-Argyroupolis in Greece has revealed the first statue of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the nation's inaugural governor. The event was marked by the renaming of the Dimarchiou Square to Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias Square, showcasing the importance of Kapodistrias in Greek history. The ceremony took place at the Mikis Theodorakis Cultural Center, emphasizing the historical significance of this occasion.

During the event, Mayor Giannis Konstantatos honored director Giannis Smaragdis and sculptor Giannis Bardi, the creator of the statue.
