Severe weather changes including dense fog alerts and rainfall are expected across several states in India.
Weather conditions in several states of India are set to change once again, with dense fog causing problems for residents. The first week of February has already seen cold temperatures and heavy fog affecting daily life in various regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that dense fog will linger in many areas over the coming days, leading to potential disruptions.
Currently, minimum temperatures are reported to range between 0 to 5 degrees Celsius in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while regions such as Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, northern Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar are experiencing temperatures between 5 to 10 degrees Celsius. The IMD has announced the likelihood of rainfall and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on February 8 and 11. Particularly on February 10, thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds of 30-40 km/h are predicted, bringing further weather challenges to these states.
Moreover, the IMD's forecasts indicate that dense fog will persist in seven states, including Uttar Pradesh. This weather shift is expected to affect visibility and transportation, raising concerns for travelers and commuters. As temperatures fluctuate, it highlights the regional climatic variability in India and serves as a reminder of the ongoing impact of winter weather on daily activities.
