With this latest achievement, Lewandowski raised his total goal tally in European leagues to 423, tying him with Yugoslavian player Stepan Bobek, who scored between 1942 and 1958, primarily during his long spell with Partizan Belgrade. Both players now share the fifth position on a remarkable list that is topped by Austrian player Josef Bican, who played for Rapid Vienna and Slavia Prague during the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.
