Mongolian Team Recognized as the Best at Ice Sculpture Competition in Jelgava
At the 27th International Ice Sculpture Competition in Jelgava, the Mongolian team was declared the winner.
In Jelgava, during the 27th International Ice Sculpture Competition, the Mongolian team earned first place for their sculpture titled 'Self-imposed Liberation'. This event showcased the creativity and skills of sculptors from various countries, with the Mongolian artists impressing the judges with their unique interpretation. The competition featured 20 sculptors from 12 nations, highlighting a diverse range of artistic expressions in ice.
The second place was awarded to a team from Ukraine for their work titled 'Portrait Illusion', while the Estonian representatives secured third place with their sculpture 'Mirage of Lines'. This illustrates the intense competition and the high level of talent present at the event. Individuals were also recognized, with Lithuanian artist Tautvils Poviļonis taking first place for his piece 'One Step', and German artist Evangels Stafilidis and Indonesian artist I Made Sutama following closely with their respective works.
Moreover, a special mention was given to Latvian artist Zīles Ozoliņas-Šneideres for her sculpture 'Experiment', which received the jury's favorite award. The event brought together not just artists but also local and foreign spectators, fostering cultural exchange and community engagement, and celebrating the artistry that can be achieved with ice as a medium.
