Physical pain cases: ended with handcuffs for both a man and a woman, starting with alcohol

On February 7, 2026, in the Ignalina region of Lithuania, two separate incidents involving intoxicated individuals resulted in arrests for causing physical pain. The first incident occurred at around 14:20 when a 1995-born man with a blood alcohol content of 2.95 promille assaulted another intoxicated man born in 1983, who had a blood alcohol level of 2.29 promille. Following the assault, an investigation was launched, and the assailant was detained and placed in the Panevėžys Regional Police Department detention facility.
Later that same day, at approximately 17:40, another incident unfolded in Ignalina, where a 1955-born woman, who was found to have a blood alcohol content of 2.01 promille, caused physical harm to a 1978-born woman, who had an even higher blood alcohol level of 2.66 promille. Like the man earlier in the day, the woman was also arrested, and an investigation was initiated concerning her actions. Both cases highlight the concerning relationship between alcohol consumption and violence within the community.
