Queen of Queens 2026: Layane Santos from Guará Acqua Park wins the largest beauty and fantasy contest in the Amazon

Layane Santos won the 78th edition of the Rainha das Rainhas, the largest beauty and fantasy contest in Northern Brazil.

Layane Santos, representing Guará Acqua Park, was crowned the winner of the 78th Rainha das Rainhas, which is recognized as the largest beauty and fantasy contest in the Amazon region. Her winning performance featured a costume that showcased the marajoara ceramics and included a transformative representation of the buffalo, a significant symbol from the Marajó region. Santos expressed her gratitude towards her club, highlighting how they supported her journey from the very first meeting and recognized that her victory represented the dreams of many.

The costume, which was rich in cultural references, drew inspiration from indigenous traditions and handcrafted marajoara artistry, prominently displaying elements that celebrated the local Pará culture. A standout aspect of her presentation included a metamorphosis of the carabao buffalo and unique visual motifs familiar to the region. This display not only elevated the contest's aesthetic but also educated the audience about the rich cultural heritage that defines the Amazon and its people.

The event was creatively produced by Matheus Souza, whose work combined various graphic designs associated with marajoara craftsmanship while incorporating traditional elements like peacock and pheasant feathers and galo tails. The hair and makeup were executed by Mago dos Pinceis, while choreography was led by Walter Júnior Freitas, ensuring that the entire performance was a collaborative celebration of beauty, culture, and local tradition in Northern Brazil.
