Among those injured was a police officer who was attempting to assist victims but was struck by a part of the ride's structure during the collapse.
Authorities have since initiated an investigation into the cause of the collapse, although initial findings suggest structural failure may be to blame. The police officer who lost his life was identified as having acted heroically, attempting to save others before he himself fell victim to the disaster. In total, thirteen other attendees were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, highlighting the serious injuries that resulted from the collapse.
