Three people die in car crash south of Brisbane
A car crash south of Brisbane has resulted in the deaths of three individuals and serious injuries to three others, including a child.
On Saturday afternoon, a tragic car crash occurred on Waterford Tamborine Road in Yarrabilba, a suburb located south of Brisbane, claiming the lives of three individuals. Emergency services responded to the scene after reports indicated that two vehicles—a ute and a station wagon—had collided around 4:30 PM. The impact was severe enough to cause both vehicles to roll over and the ute to ignite in flames, leading to immediate casualties.
The crash resulted in the death of the ute's driver, an 18-year-old man, who died at the scene. Additionally, the driver of the station wagon, a 65-year-old man, and a 33-year-old woman also succumbed to their injuries on-site. This unfortunate incident left three other passengers from the station wagon injured, as they were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. A 65-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries, while a two-year-old girl was taken to Queensland Children's Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit has since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
