Stabbing at youth party: One taken to hospital
Police responded to a youth party in Oslo where one person suffered stab wounds and another was struck on the head with a shovel.
On Saturday evening, police were called to a youth party at an address in Oppsal, eastern Oslo, after the situation escalated. According to operations leader Vidar Pedersen's log entry at 11:01 PM, one individual was struck in the head with a shovel, while another sustained stab wounds to the back. As the night progressed, it was confirmed that the person with stab wounds to the upper body was transported to the hospital, though the extent of their injuries remains unclear; however, they are conscious, as reported by the police.
In an update, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the conflict that arose during the party, which apparently involved a disagreement leading to violence between two individuals, both of whom are in their teenage years. Operations leader Rune Hekkelstrand mentioned that communication with the parents of those involved is ongoing, and the police are working to identify and speak with all relevant parties.
Multiple police patrols are present at the location, and they have managed to detain two boys suspected of being involved in the incident. This occurrence raises concerns about youth gatherings and the potential for violence, prompting further scrutiny of safety measures at such events to prevent similar incidents in the future.
