On Saturday, Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, headed a federal delegation to Kwara State as part of a condolence visit for the recent passing of two prominent religious leaders, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, and Alhaji Umar Sabi Mohammed, the Chief Imam of Kaiama. This visit underscores the significance of these figures in their communities and the federal acknowledgment of their contributions to society.

The delegation's first stop was at the Kwara State Government House where they were greeted by the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. This meeting highlights the cooperative relationship between state and federal authorities, particularly in matters concerning religious and community leadership. Following the government house visit, the team proceeded to the Emir’s Palace, emphasizing respect and recognition of traditional leadership in the mourning process, before making a visit to the residence of one of the late Chief Imams.
