Two injured from knife attacks in Galatsi

Two individuals were injured in separate knife attacks in the Galatsi area of Greece on the evening of February 7.

On the evening of February 7, two separate knife attacks occurred in the Galatsi district of Athens, resulting in injuries to a 32-year-old man and a 25-year-old man. The first attack took place around 8 PM on Kourtios Street, where the 32-year-old man was stabbed and later hospitalized at Evangelismos Hospital with a penetrating wound to his gluteus. The knife was later found on Stefanopoulou Street.

Just a few hours after the first incident, the 25-year-old man was attacked by unknown assailants on Parthenopis Street, allegedly after being asked about his football team allegiance. He was also taken to Evangelismos Hospital but thankfully sustained only minor injuries. As of now, it remains unclear whether these two incidents are connected in any way.

The local authorities are actively investigating both cases to ascertain the motives behind these attacks and any possible links between them. This unsettling situation has heightened concerns about public safety in the area, especially with the element of sports-related violence hinted at in the second attack.
