Driver makes a mistake and bus knocks down house wall in Campinas
A bus in Campinas, Brazil, knocked down a wall and invaded a residential area due to a maneuver error by the driver.
In Campinas, SΓ£o Paulo, a bus from the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system knocked down a wall and intruded into a home located on Francisco Rosa da Silva Street, in Jardim Shangai, on Saturday afternoon. The incident was caused by a maneuver error while the driver was operating the bus within the garage's internal patio. This error resulted in the bus crashing into the dividing wall between two properties.
The Syndicate of Passenger Transport Companies of the Campinas Metropolitan Region (SetCamp) confirmed that the bus driver misjudged the operation, leading to the accident. The organization stated that they would begin repairs on the damaged wall starting Monday, although they could not provide an estimated completion date for the repairs.
A resident of the affected house described her experience during the incident, noting that she was sitting outside when she heard a loud noise and witnessed the bus invading her property. She was trapped for approximately 20 minutes due to the bus blocking her entrance, leading to a significant fright and concern about her safety and the damage to her property.
