Military Tasks: F-22 Fighters Withdrawn from American Football Final Celebrations
The U.S. Air Force announced the withdrawal of F-22 Raptor fighters from the Super Bowl 60 air show due to urgent operational missions.
The U.S. Air Force has decided to withdraw F-22 Raptor fighters from their scheduled air show participation at the Super Bowl 60 celebrations held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This decision, confirmed by Katie Spencer, director of the Air Force's sports outreach program, is a result of urgent operational tasks that require the aircraft's reassignment to other missions. Spencer emphasized that the withdrawal is not indicative of any technical or security issues, but rather reflects the routine operational priorities of the Air Force.
Despite the absence of the F-22s, the air show will continue featuring an impressive lineup of other aircraft including F-15C and F-35C fighters, alongside B-1 bombers, with around eight planes expected to perform. The initial plans had included two F-22s to showcase the latest jet capabilities, but operational needs have taken precedence, prompting this adjustment in the display. Spencer remarked on the significant role that the F-22 has played in operations such as 'Midnight Hammer' in June and other key missions.
