Pensions: When will they be paid to beneficiaries
Pension payments for March 2026 will be advanced due to Clean Monday, altering the typical deposit schedule in bank accounts.
Due to the observance of Clean Monday in March 2026, pension payments will be made earlier than usual, affecting when beneficiaries can access their funds at ATMs. Typically, pension amounts are credited to bank accounts by the afternoon of the preceding working day, but the holiday necessitates adjustments in the schedule for pension disbursements.
Specifically, the payment dates for pensions will vary based on the distinction between salaried and non-salaried workers. On Tuesday, February 25, 2026, primary pensions from the former funds for non-salaried workers (OAEE, OGA, ETAA) will be paid, along with primary pensions awarded since the establishment of EFKA under Law 4387/2016, covering both salaried and non-salaried retirees from January 1, 2017 onwards. Additionally, all supplementary pensions from the private sector will be included in this disbursement.
On Thursday, February 27, 2026, payments for primary pensions from former salaried funds (IKA-ETAM, banks, OTE, DEH, and others) will occur. This restructuring of the payment schedule is crucial for pensioners to ensure they receive their funds in a timely manner, especially in light of the Clean Monday holiday which marks a significant cultural observance in Greece.
