The match, hosted at Osijek's Gradski vrt, saw Vukovar take the lead early on with a penalty by Jakov Puljić in the 16th minute. Mario Tadić doubled the lead shortly after halftime, but Istra fought back with a penalty from Dario Marešić in the 56th minute, bringing the score to 2-1.
