Zagreb is 15 years old: Parents in Split thrilled with new practice in the clinic
Parents in Split are pleased with a new practice in a pediatric clinic that separates appointments for healthy and sick children to reduce the spread of infections.
A pediatric clinic in Split has implemented a new scheduling system since the beginning of the year, which separates appointments for healthy and sick children. This change aims to minimize the spread of infections and increase efficiency, receiving positive feedback from parents according to reports from Dalmacija Danas. Under this new schedule, healthy children attend routine check-ups, vaccinations, and controls at the start of working hours, while appointments for sick children begin two and a half hours later. The clinic emphasizes that every child will be seen, even if they arrive outside the designated time.
The director of the Health Center of Split-Dalmatia County, Marko Rađa, points out that this kind of scheduling is not new and is practiced in other cities as well. The initiative is intended to prevent mingling of healthy and sick children, thereby reducing the risk of infections in waiting areas and shortening waiting times. This approach represents a proactive step towards ensuring better health outcomes for children visiting the clinic.
The response from parents has been overwhelmingly positive, illustrating their support for measures that prioritize children's health and well-being. This systematic separation of appointments is viewed as a necessary improvement in pediatric healthcare, which could potentially influence other clinics and health centers to adopt similar practices, enhancing overall public health strategies in the region.
