The cross-country skiing program at the Milan Cortina Olympics kicked off today with the women's 10+10 km relay event, showcasing the debut of Estonian skier Teiloora Ojaste alongside experienced competitors Kaidy and Keidy Kaasik. The sisters tackled the demanding course as part of a competitive field of 70 athletes. Teiloora Ojaste managed to complete just over half of the distance, marking her first appearance at the Olympics under challenging conditions.
In the race, Kaidy Kaasik emerged as the standout performer for the Estonian team, finishing in 43rd place overall. Her time placed her 7 minutes and 33.3 seconds behind the winner, Frida Karlsson of Sweden. This performance reflects the growing participation and competitiveness of Estonian athletes on the international stage, particularly in winter sports where conditions can often be quite rigorous.
