Woman found dead near sewer gallery in downtown Boa Vista
A woman, who has not yet been identified, was discovered dead near a sewer gallery in downtown Boa Vista.
A woman was found dead near a sewer gallery in downtown Boa Vista on the night of Friday, October 6. The discovery was made after a man reported to a military firefighter in the area that he had seen a corpse in a thicket nearby. The firefighter confirmed the information and contacted the Military Police around 7:42 PM. The body was located in an area of dense vegetation next to the sewer gallery between Getúlio Vargas and Sebastião Diniz avenues.
Due to the difficult access to the body, a team from the Fire Department cut branches to facilitate access to the area. Homicide detectives and Civil Police experts also arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. After securing the area and conducting necessary procedures, the body was removed by the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for further examination.
As of now, the identity of the deceased woman is not known, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances leading to her death. This case raises concerns about safety and the prevalence of violent incidents in urban areas, highlighting the need for ongoing community vigilance and police engagement in regions like downtown Boa Vista.
