Vukovar can play home games at two stadiums this spring?

Vukovar is set to play its home games this spring at two different stadiums in the SuperSport HNL due to ongoing issues with their current venue.

The Croatian football club Vukovar is in a precarious position as it navigates its home game situation this spring. Currently, they are set to play against Istra in Osijek in a match that holds significance for both teams; Vukovar sits at the bottom of the SuperSport HNL standings, needing points to avoid relegation, while Istra aims to gain ground on the league leaders Hajduk. The uncertainty surrounds Vukovar's home stadium situation, which has forced them to move to a second venue for the remainder of the season.

Earlier this season, Vukovar hosted its home games at Cibalia's stadium in Vinkovci, but the relationship between the two clubs has proven to be tumultuous. Cibalia has reportedly earned approximately 170,000 euros from the rental agreement with Vukovar but not without disagreements along the way. As a result, Vukovar has now arranged to move its home games to the Gradski vrt stadium, which was finalized this winter, but they remain able to play at Cibalia's stadium if needed, as they have not terminated that rental agreement.

The implications of Vukovar’s stadium issues extend beyond logistics; they reflect the club's struggles in the league and raise questions about its future. As they attempt to climb out of the relegation zone, the uncertainty of having multiple home grounds may further obscure their performance in crucial matches ahead. The ability to stabilize their setting could be vital in helping them secure the points necessary to remain competitive in the league.
