Neto Rodrigues has been selected as the King Momo of the Salvador Carnival 2026, winning the final selection held in Salvador.
Neto Rodrigues, aged 45, triumphed in the final selection for the King Momo of the Salvador Carnival 2026, held on Friday night at the Shopping Bela Vista. This event was organized by the Federation of Carnival and Cultural Entities of Bahia (FCCBA) in partnership with the City Hall of Salvador and the State Government. As the winner, Rodrigues will officially kick off the carnival celebrations by receiving the city's keys, a tradition that marks the start of the festivities.
In addition to the honor of becoming King Momo, Rodrigues will receive a cash prize of R$ 10,000 and a unique complete costume created by the brand Meninos Rei, sponsored by Shopping Bela Vista. Eight finalists represented various profiles, ages, and backgrounds in the competition, each embodying the joyful and irreverent spirit of this iconic character in carnival culture. Other notable finalists included Deivisson Santos, who took second place at the age of 20, and Paulo Mendes, who came in third at 58 years old.
