Severina opened the 200th Samobor Carnival with a concert

Severina kicked off the 200th Samobor Carnival with a spectacular concert, marking the official declaration of the 'Free Carnival Republic' by the city of Samobor.

The city of Samobor officially commenced its jubilee 200th Samobor Carnival by declaring it the 'Free Carnival Republic'. The keys to the city were ceremoniously handed over to the Carnival Prince, Princess Sraka, Judge, and Financial Officer by the mayor Petra Škrobot. This unique tradition, which allows the carnival figures to govern the city until Shrove Tuesday on February 17, adds a festive atmosphere to the proceedings.

The opening celebration featured a sensational concert by popular artist Severina, drawing thousands of visitors to the streets for an unforgettable experience. The carnival's lively atmosphere was further facilitated by a rich music program, which not only included Severina’s performance but also continued with Željko Bebek entertaining the crowd until the early morning hours. The event promises an exciting lineup, with additional performances from 12 other artists planned throughout the festivities.

Taking place in various venues including the Square of Carnival Greats and the Carnival Tent, the entertainment schedule features a diverse range of artists such as Mate Bulić, Plavi Orkestar, Gazde, Neda Ukraden, and many more. This vibrant celebration engages not just locals but also attracts visitors from afar, highlighting the cultural importance of the Samobor Carnival as it marks a significant milestone with its 200th edition.
