Iraqi: We are ready for an agreement on enrichment and refuse to negotiate on missiles

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran is willing to reach an agreement on uranium enrichment while rejecting talks on missile capabilities.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that the recent negotiations with Washington were a positive start focused solely on the nuclear file. He emphasized that uranium enrichment is a recognized right for Iran that must continue, asserting that the country will not consider zero enrichment in future talks. The discussions were facilitated by Oman, with U.S. delegations led by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, while Iran's delegation was under Araghchi's leadership.

The recent talks concluded in Muscat without a specific timeline for the next round, although both Tehran and Washington agree that it should happen soon. Araghchi stressed that indirect negotiations taking place through Oman were centered only on the nuclear file and emphasized Iran's determination to maintain its enrichment capabilities. He believes that the enrichment level will depend on Iran's requirements and stated that enriched uranium will not leave Iranian territory.

Araghchi asserted that the only way to solve the issues concerning the nuclear file is through negotiations. He expressed confidence that any external attempts, including military action, failed to destroy Iran's capabilities, reinforcing Iran's stance on its right to enrich uranium. The ongoing discussions signify a delicate diplomatic balancing act with potential implications for regional stability and international relations regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions.
