Two drunken men were arrested after causing a disturbance and physically attacking guests at a café in Požega.

On Friday evening at around 10:10 PM, two drunken men disrupted public peace at a café terrace in Požega's Holy Trinity Square. According to the police report, a 58-year-old and a 62-year-old man shouted, smashed glasses, and physically assaulted two individuals. The incident escalated when they directed their aggression towards a 23-year-old woman and later attacked a 27-year-old man who tried to intervene, with the older man subsequently assaulting a 36-year-old man as well.

The police intervened, arresting both men and detaining them in holding cells for sobriety as there was a risk they would continue to disrupt public order. The local police announced that they would be filing misdemeanor charges against both individuals for violations of laws against public disturbances. This incident not only raises concerns about alcohol-related violence but also highlights the ongoing issues of public safety in recreational areas, particularly during late-night hours.

Such incidents can lead to a fear of going out in public spaces, especially among women and those trying to enjoy nightlife respectfully. It is crucial for authorities to address these matters through stricter regulations and awareness campaigns, ensuring that public spaces remain safe for all individuals.
