Mozambique: Mozambique and UAE to Deepen Cooperation in Agriculture
Mozambique and the UAE are set to enhance their cooperation in agriculture and environmental protection through a newly formed technical team.
The governments of Mozambique and the United Arab Emirates have announced their plans to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, food security, and environmental protection. This announcement came from Mozambican Agriculture Minister, Roberto Albino, during his speech at the World Governments Summit in Dubai. The two countries are enhancing their bilateral ties and focusing on integrating small-scale producers to boost their income and contribute to the nation's economic growth.
During a meeting with his Emirati counterpart, Amna Al Dahak, Minister Albino emphasized the importance of a joint technical team that will be responsible for implementing a Memorandum of Understanding related to environmental and biodiversity issues. This collaboration is expected to review and restructure their cooperation framework, ensuring that it aligns with the strategic interests of both nations in addressing food security and ecological sustainability.
The integration of small-scale producers into the broader agricultural system is a significant aspect of this initiative. By focusing on these producers, the countries aim to create a more inclusive agricultural landscape that supports overall national development. This collaboration also highlights a growing interest in international partnerships to tackle pressing issues related to agriculture and environmental stewardship, particularly in the context of climate change and food security challenges.
