With representatives from 92 delegations competing until the closing ceremony on February 22 in Verona, this Winter Olympics is set to be one of the most expansive and inclusive editions yet.
The grand opening ceremony took place at the famed San Siro Stadium in Milan, where around 60,000 invited guests and ticket holders enjoyed a visually impressive display crafted through innovative staging and technological solutions. Approximately 1,200 volunteers and 500 performers contributed to the event, showcasing the cultural vibrancy and collaborative spirit behind the Olympic Games. Simultaneous opening parades were also conducted in Livigno, Predazzo, and Cortina, further emphasizing the shared celebration across the regions involved.
Lithuania's delegation made a notable appearance by marching 51st in the parade, positioned between Liechtenstein and Luxembourg, capturing the essence of international unity and friendly competition.
