A recent study conducted by Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity and digital privacy firm, examines the profound effects of technological advancement on family dynamics. The research involved 3,000 participants from 15 countries and was carried out in November 2025. It highlights how technology increasingly intertwines with everyday life, shaping human interactions and relationships.
According to the study's findings, the majority of respondents anticipate that digital and physical experiences will merge, leading to novel forms of companionship. Examples range from grandparents participating in birthday celebrations via holograms to children caring for digital pets alongside their siblings. This indicates a shift in what constitutes family bonding in the digital age.
Further, an overwhelming 81% of participants believe that digital technology will radically transform shared family activities within the next decade. These shifts suggest a future where technology plays a crucial role in strengthening familial ties, presenting both opportunities for connection and challenges related to balance in the use of digital tools within the family setting.
