A 40-million-year-old fossilized ant was discovered in the amber collection of the famous writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe at the Goethe National Museum in Weimar, Germany, and has been analyzed in detail using Hamburg's DESY synchrotron for 3D reconstruction.
